TAMPA, Fla. (September 6, 2025) – The University of South Florida women's golf team tees it up for the first time of the 2025-26 season on Sunday, September 7, for the Wolverine Invitational. The Bulls will be joined by 14 other teams at the University of Michigan Golf Course in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Tiphani Knight,
Regina Plascencia,
Valentina Bosselmann,
Cherry Marley, and
Holly McLean will represent the Bulls. South Florida will compete against Purdue, Virginia, Indiana, Oakland, Kent State, Rutgers, FIU, Iowa State, Kennesaw State, Chattanooga, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and Notre Dame. The Bulls will tee off on holes 1-3 at 8:45 a.m.

Tampa native AJ Newell, a former LPGA Tour Player and NCAA All-American, enters her second season as head coach of USF women's golf. In her first season, she coached Leonor Medeiros to the American All-Conference Team. Newell coached the Bulls to four top-10 finishes in the 2024-25 season.
Newell took over leadership of the Bulls' program following a successful three-year stint as assistant coach at the University of Michigan, where she helped guide the Wolverines to three straight NCAA Regional appearances, a 2022 Big Ten title, and a trip to the 2022 NCAA Championship Finals.
