USF Women’s Basketball Runs Down UTSA on the Road.

The Bulls extend their win streak to three.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas. (February 14, 2026) – South Florida women's basketball (16-10; 9-4 American) took down UTSA (12-12; 7-6 American) for the second time this season on Saturday night in the Convocation Center, 69-63.

The Bulls applied pressure in transition, scoring 25 points off fast breaks and forcing 13 turnovers. While the Bulls defense held the Roadrunners to a 31 percent shooting and posted seven blocks as a team. South Florida also recorded 18 assists

Katie Davidson and Edyn Battle both recorded 17 points on the night. Carla Brito joined the double-figure scoring with 13. Battle also led the Bulls with 9 of the 18 assists. L'or Mputu led the team with four blocks and Stefanie Ingram recorded three steals

 

How it Happened:

Both the Bulls and the Roadrunners stayed evenly-matched in the quick-paced first quarter. Both teams struggled in the field, recording 30 percent shooting or under. While both team's defenses recorded 13 rebounds and one block. South Florida and UTSA's offenses responded quickly to each other, keeping the score even until the last 30 seconds, when the Roadrunners took a 13-11 lead going into the second quarter

The Bulls came out strong early in the second stanza, scoring six unanswered and forcing a UTSA timeout. Out of the timeout, Davidson pulled up with two big threes and a block from Ingram turned a fast-break score from Brito added to the Bulls earning the biggest lead of the half, 29-19. With three blocks from Mputu and seven defensive rebounds from Brito, the Bulls defense kept UTSA to under 30 percent shooting and carried a seven-point lead into the half, 33-26

Out of the half, both teams started slow and physical, resulting in a lot of points from the free throw lines for both teams. A trip to the line from Davidson halfway through the third quarter, switched the momentum for the Bulls. South Florida went on a 7-0 scoring streak, forcing UTSA to go 1-8 from the field and ended the quarter with the biggest lead so far of 12. The Bulls led 51-39

Mputu opened up the quarter with back to back twos and while UTSA applied pressure offensively, the Bulls responded by keeping a 10-point lead the whole quarter until the last minute. The Roadrunners went on a 6-0 run, putting them within five of the Bulls. Back to back trips to the line from Battle, pushed the Bulls up to secure the win, 69-63

Notables:

Carla Brito recorded her 17th double-double of the year, posting 13 points and 12 rebounds. Brito added to the list with a block and a steal. 

Edyn Battle posted her 17th double-digit scoring game of the season, logging 17 points and dishing out nine assists

Edyn Battle went 7-7 from the free throw line, her first time going 100  percent with seven made

Katie Davidson posted her 18th game with double-digit scoring, posting 17 points on the night. Davison also recorded a block and two steals

South Florida shot 51 percent against UTSA. This is the second-highest shooting percentage the Roadrunners have let up this season

South Florida takes the 3-2 lead against UTSA in program history
