USF Women’s Golf Finishes Third at the Boilermaker Spring Classicc

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (April 13, 2026)Cherry Marley led the University of South Florida women's golf team at the Boilermaker Spring Classic. Marley finished the tournament at even par, placing third. The Bulls finished the tournament in third place.
 
Marley finished in third place with a 215 (-1) for the tournament. She opened day one with a 71 (-1) and followed with a 72 (E). She recorded a 72 (E) to finish the tournament. She finished the tournament tied for fourth with birdies. She was one of 13 players to produce an eagle. Marley finished ahead of eight nationally ranked golfers, including the No. 7 player.
 
Alice Webb finished tied for 16th. She recorded seven birdies over the three rounds. Regina Plascencia posted a top-25 finish, tying for 22nd. She also recorded seven birdies. Holly McLean notched seven birdies for the tournament. Emma Kim tallied four birdies, while Matylda Krawczynska had three. 
 
The Bulls shift their focus to the American Conference Championship on Monday, April 20. The championship will be held at Southern Hills Plantation Club in Brooksville, Florida.

Tampa native AJ Newell, a former LPGA Tour Player and NCAA All-American, enters her second season as head coach of USF women's golf. In her first season, she coached Leonor Medeiros to the American All-Conference Team. Newell coached the Bulls to four top-10 finishes in the 2024-25 season.
 
Newell took over leadership of the Bulls' program following a successful three-year stint as assistant coach at the University of Michigan, where she helped guide the Wolverines to three straight NCAA Regional appearances, a 2022 Big Ten title, and a trip to the 2022 NCAA Championship Finals.
