TAMPA, Fla. (April 20, 2026) – The South Florida women's basketball team has signed 2025-26 All-Big East Second Team guard Kate Novik, head coach Kristy Curry announced on Monday.
"We are ecstatic to welcome Kate to our Bulls family! Kate brings great size, versatility, and high basketball IQ to our backcourt," Curry said. "She is a three-level scorer who will flourish in doing the little things that impact winning. It was evident in getting to know Kate that she loves the game and is a consummate gym rat. We are thrilled to welcome her to Tampa Bay's Home for Hoops!"
Novik is a 6-foot guard from Grodno, Belarus, who has one year of eligibility remaining. She was named to the All-Big East Second Team last season at DePaul, averaging 12.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. The guard was also a two-time Second Team All-OVC selection at Morehead State.
As a junior in 2025-26 at DePaul, Novik led the team with 110 assists and was a recipient of the Mazik-Wojtaszek Family Women's Basketball Scholarship. She recorded a triple-double with 12 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists against UMass Lowell.
Novik logged five double-doubles and 22 double-digit scoring performances and was the only Blue Demon to average in double figures at 12.2 points per game. She reached 1,000 career points against Xavier and recorded a season-high 23 points at Providence.
As a sophomore at Morehead State, Novik averaged 13.5 points, 4.9 assists, and 6.0 rebounds per game, all ranking in the top 10 in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC). She led the team in minutes per game (32.7), field goals made (118), points per game (13.5), defensive rebounds (130), steals (59), and assists (117). The guard averaged 2.46 steals per game, ranking first in the OVC and 35
th nationally.
Novik scored in double figures in 19 games, including a trio of 20-point performances and four double-doubles. She recorded a .798 free-throw percentage, which ranked seventh in the OVC. She posted a career-high 27 points against USC Upstate.
As a freshman at Morehead State, Novik ranked second on the team with 11.1 points and 3.5 assists per game. She finished among the team's top three in field goals made (117), three-point percentage (.376), free throws made (64), rebounds (128), and steals (50), while leading the team with 29 blocks.
Novik recorded a season-high 20 points against Southeast Missouri State and logged 18 double-digit scoring performances.
