2026 NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
Schedule features eight 2025-26 postseason teams, nine that posted 20-plus wins last year and four defending conference champions;
Bulls set for eight home games in Yuengling Center
TAMPA (AUG. 10, 2026) – The 2026-27 South Florida Men's Basketball Season presented by Tampa General Hospital will tip off on Monday, Nov. 2 vs. Charleston Southern in the Yuengling Center in the first of a 14-game non-conference schedule announced Monday. Tip times and broadcast arrangements will be announced later.
Coming off winning American Conference regular season and tournament titles and making the program's first NCAA Tournament appearance in 14 years last season, the Bull's first season under head coach Chris Mack will feature eight non-conference home games, four road games and two neutral site contests.
"Our guys are excited to play a very competitive non-conference schedule that includes eight teams that played in the postseason last year and nine that won 20 or more games," Mack said. "We have a nice mix of home, away and neutral site games against quality opponents that will challenge our team and prepare us for a demanding American Conference schedule."
The Bulls 14-game non-conference schedule features:
• Eight opponents that reached postseason play last season:
• Four NCAA Tournament teams: Alabama (25-20, NCAA Sweet 16),
St. Louis (29-6, NCAA 2nd Rd), Tennessee State (23-10, NCAA 1st Rd) and
Kennesaw State (21-14, NCAA 1st Rd);
• Three NIT teams: Dayton (25-12, NIT Quarterfinal),
St. Joseph's (24-12, NIT Quarterfinal) and George Mason (23-10, NIT 1st Rd);
• One NCAA Division II Tournament team: West Florida (25-9, NCAA 1st Rd).
• Four opponents that won conference championships last year: Tennessee State (OVC),
Saint Louis (A-10), Kennesaw State (C-USA) and West Florida (Gulf South).
• Nine teams that posted 20-win seasons last year and four that logged 25 or more wins.
• Two teams that appeared in the Top 25 rankings during the 2025-26 season.
• Four teams that finished the season with top 100 NET rankings last year and
nine that finished in the top 200.
Highlighting the non-conference opponents will be Alabama (Sat., Dec. 19), which went 25-20 last year, reached the NCAA Sweet 16 and finished No. 14 in the final NET rankings and No. 16 in the Associated Press Poll. The Crimson Tide will come to Tampa as part of a two-for-one series following a thrilling 104-93 win over the Bulls in Tuscaloosa, Ala., last year. The series will conclude when the Bulls return to Tuscaloosa in 2027.
South Florida previously announced six dates on the schedule: at Depaul (Thurs., Nov. 5), vs. St. Joseph's (Wed., Nov. 11, 3 p.m., CBS Sports Network) in the Veteran's Classic in Annapolis, Md., at George Mason (Sat., Nov. 21), vs. Saint Louis (Sun., Nov. 29) as part of the A-10/American Showcase doubleheader in Columbus, Ohio, at Dayton (Sat., Dec. 12), and vs. Kennesaw State (Sat., Dec. 19) in the Love Wins Classic in the Yuengling Center.
The Bulls non-conference slate includes eight home dates: Charleston Southern (Mon., Nov. 2), Coppin State (Sat., Nov. 14), Tennessee State (Tues., Nov. 17), Stetson (Tues., Nov. 24), West Florida (Wed., Dec. 2), Jacksonville (Wed., Dec. 9), Kennesaw State and Alabama.
Among the Bulls four road dates is a contest at the College of Charleston (Tues., Dec. 22), where Mack served as head coach from 2024-26. The game will be the front end of a home-and-home series that sees the Cougars coming to Tampa in 2027.

The Bulls welcomed 15 new players in head coach Chris Mack's first season at the helm as South Florida returned no players from the 2025-26 squad that went 25-9, reached the NCAA tournament and won an American Conference title (claiming both the regular season and tournament crowns) for the second time in three years. The Bulls reloaded with 12 transfer portal additions and three high school signees. The portal class features four players with a composite rating of .9100 or higher and a four-star rating, according to 247Sports. The Bulls' average transfer rating of 89.00 ranks third among Group of 6 programs, while the overall class ranked among the top 10 nationally among the Group of 6 according to 247Sports.

With more than 300 career wins, he brought a career winning percentage of nearly 68 percent to South Florida, including 12 20-win seasons and nine NCAA Tournament appearances. He led both Xavier and Louisville to the NCAA Tournament and made four Sweet 16 appearances and one Elite Eight with Xavier.
The program, entering its 56th season in 2026-27, won American Conference regular season championships in 2024 and 2026 and claimed the conference tournament title in 2026. The Bulls have made 14 postseason appearances, including four NCAA Tournaments (the last in 2026), nine NITs, and a CBI championship in 2019. Three former Bulls players – Chucky Atkins, Charlie Bradley, and Rodenko Dobras – have had their jerseys retired and are members of the USF Athletic Hall of Fame, while two coaches – Amir Abdur-Rahim (2023-24) and Bobby Paschal (1986-96) – join them in the Hall of Fame.
