Bulls to Face Auburn and Middle Tennessee State at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort.
TAMPA, Fla., August 3, 2026ย โ The University of South Florida Women's Basketball program will travel to the Great Smoky Mountains this December to compete in the 2026 Cherokee Invitational, hosted at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee, North Carolina.

South Florida will participate in two games in two days, opening up tournament play on Sunday, December 20, against Auburn at 9:00 p.m. EST. The Bulls are 1-1 all-time against Auburn, with their last meeting in the 2011 campaign.

South Florida will then close out tournament play on Monday, December 21, facing Middle Tennessee State at 6:30 p.m. EST. South Florida is 0-2 against MTSU all-time, with their last matchup closing out their 2013 non-conference slate. This year's matchup will close out South Florida's 14-game non-conference slate.

Now in its fifth year, the Cherokee Invitational has grown into one of the premier early-season holiday events in women's college basketball, drawing top Division I programs from across the country for a weekend of competitive matchups. This year's field includes South Florida alongside Auburn University, Middle Tennessee State University, and the University of Tulsa.
