CAREER STATS THROUGH 2021-22

2022-23 (USF): Played in 27 games in his final season…averaged 3.9 points/game…totaled 20 rebounds, 13 assists, 11 steals and two blocked shots…shot 46% from the field (35-76) and 44% from downtown (18-41)…exploded for a career-high 21 points at Memphis (12/29/22)…went 5-for-6 from downtown in that game...shot 76% from the charity stripe (16-21) and sealed a USF win at UCF (2/22/23) with a pair of late free throws.

2021-22 (USF): Played in 28 games and made four starts in his first season back home in the Bay with the Bulls…averaged 11.4 minutes, 3.6 points and 1.0 rebounds per game…totaled 11 assists, eight steals and three blocked shots…scored in double digits in back-to-back games against Tulane (2/15/22) and ECU (2/17/22) on 5-11 shooting in both contests…scored 17 points off the bench against Tulane on 4-7 shooting from downtown…poured in a season-best 18 points in a start the next game against ECU on 5-9 shooting from beyond the arc…recorded season highs in minutes (36), assists (3) and blocks (2) vs. Tulsa (2/19/22)…pulled down a season-high four rebounds at ECU (2/23/22).

PRIOR TO USF: Transferred to USF in April of 2021 after previous stops at East Tennessee State and Maryland…in his two seasons with the Terrapins, Smith Jr. totaled 157 points, 65 rebounds, 29 assists and 12 steals in 61 games played.
 
2020-21 (ETSU): Played in 25 games and made 17 starts while playing 23.6 minutes per game as East Tennessee State posted a 13-12 record (8-7 Southern Conference) …averaged 7.0 points (fifth on the team) and 2.3 rebounds per game while shooting 37.0 percent from the floor, 26.6 percent from three (17-64) and 83.0 percent from the foul line (first on the team)…added 28 assists and 24 steals…logged six double-digit scoring games, including a season-best 21 points vs. The Citadel (1/30)…scored 16 points and had four rebounds at UNC Greensboro (1/2)…had 16 points vs. Mercer (2/17)…had 15 points vs. VMI (1/18)..scored 13 points at Furman (1/16) and logged 11 points vs. Columbia International (12/17)…had a season-best eight rebounds vs. Wofford (2/13).
 
2019-20) (MARYLAND): he played in 27 games in the 2019-20 season as a sophomore, helping lead Maryland to a Big Ten Championship…scored a season-high eight points (two made three-pointers) in a season-opening win over Holy Cross…scored six points and grabbed four rebounds at Rutgers on March 3…grabbed a career-high five rebounds with a season-high two assists against No. 18 Iowa….hit a pair of threes in a season-high 17 minutes at Northwestern on January 21.
 
2018-19 (MARYLAND): As a freshman, Smith Jr. played in all 34 games for Maryland as he averaged 3.4 points and 12.0 minutes per game and shot 84.0 percent from the free-throw line…scored in double figures four times his rookie season, including a career-high 14-point effort versus Ohio State…scored 11 points (4-of-5 at free throw line) and added two steals at Rutgers.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Rated a four-star recruit by ESPN out of St. Petersburg High School, Smith Jr. was also ranked the No. 13 combo guard in the country and the No. 18 prospect in the state of Florida via 247Sports… ESPN tabbed him as the 12th ranked player in the state and No. 30 shooting guard in the country…after averaging 29.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists his senior season, Smith Jr. was named 2018 Florida Class 8A Player of the Year...finished third in Florida's Mr. Basketball voting…the highly-touted guard led St. Petersburg to three State Final Four appearances…also played for the Showtime Ballers AAU team.
 
PERSONAL: Son of Serrel Smith Sr. and Tamika Coley ... Basketball runs in his family as his mother Tamika Coley is the all-time scorer (2,006) and rebounder (1,211) at the University of Central Florida, along with being inducted into the Golden Knights Hall of Fame...Coley is the head women's basketball coach at St. Petersburg High School...Serrel's sister Kamika Idom played basketball at Florida International (2012-15), while his cousin Jerica Coley also played at FIU, where she led the country in scoring her senior season (29.5 ppg in 2013-14)...Coley then went on to play in the WNBA with the New York Liberty.
