Biography

After a four-year playing career with the Bulls, Katie Reed will step to the sidelines as an assistant coach in 2006.

Reed, a midfielder, played in all 17 games her senior season. She scored four goals and had five assists her senior season, including one game-winning goal against St. John’s University on Oct. 21. Reed led the 2006 Bulls in assists and was second on the team in points, 13, and goals scored. Throughout her four years at USF, Reed scored 11 goals, four of which were game winners. She had 96 shots, 50 on goal, and 14 assists in 68 games.

Reed is from Norcross, Ga., where she attended Norcross High School. She was an all-county defensive player twice and was her team MVP three seasons. Katie is the daughter of Joe and Niki and the sister to John and Jamie.



2004 - Received second team All-C-USA honors ... Led the team in five offensive categories: points (10), goals (4), game-winning goals (2), shots (42) and shots on goal (19) ... Finished tied for first with two assists on the year ... Doubled her career total of goals with the four she put in the back of the net (she previously had three goals in two seasons) ... Tallied four points against Memphis on Oct. 15, scoring a goal while assisting on two ... Finished ranked tenth in the conference with her average of .095 shots per game ... Played in all 16 games for the Bulls and started in all but one.

2003 - Was a First Team All-Conference USA selection ... Played and started in 17 games for the Bulls ... Led the team with five assists and finished tied for third with two goals ... Placed second on the team with nine points ... Finished ranked seventh in the conference with her five assists on the season and her 0.29 assists-per-game average ... Scored the game-winning goal to beat Louisville, 2-1, on Sept. 26 ... Was third on the team in shots with 17 ... Finished second on the team with 10 shots on goal ... Assisted on both goals scored in a 2-1 victory against TCU on Oct. 26 ... Tied the season-high with those two assists against TCU ... Assisted on the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win against Memphis on Oct. 24.

2002 - Was tabbed a Conference USA All-Freshman selection ... Was seventh on the team in scoring with four points (one goal and two assists) ... Netted her first collegiate goal against Florida Atlantic in a 2-1 win on Oct. 6 ... Had two assists in back-to-back games against Memphis on Oct. 13 and at TCU on Oct. 19.

High School - Earned five varsity letters, four in soccer and one in cross country ... Voted her team's MVP sophomore through senior seasons and earned first team all-county recognition twice ... Played mostly as a member of J.D. Goff's defensive unit at Norcross High School while playing primarily as a forward or midfielder for Kris Lippert on her club team ... Helped her club team to an Orange Classic Tournament title and was named tournament MVP ... Was a member of the National Art Honor Society.
