TAMPA - The University of South Florida (USF) invites the Tampa Bay community, in addition to students, faculty, staff, and alumni, to the Tampa campus for the system-wide celebration of the second annual USF Day on Saturday, April 9.  The highlight of the day is the USF Bulls Football Green & Gold Bowl, the first-ever scrimmage of its kind on campus. In addition to the scrimmage, baseball, softball and women's soccer will also be in action.  The athletic events are all a part of the family-friendly festival, featuring numerous Bulls Country food vendors, interactive games and Bullstock, USF's annual outdoor music concert.

ATHLETIC EVENTS
1 p.m.: Softball vs. Georgetown (USF Softball Stadium)
1:30 p.m.: Women's Soccer Spring Game (USF Soccer/Track & Field Stadium)
3 p.m.: Softball vs. Georgetown (USF Softball Stadium)
5 p.m.: Green & Gold Bowl (USF Soccer/Track & Field Stadium)
7 p.m.: Baseball vs. Rutgers (USF Baseball Stadium)

STUDENT BULLS CLUB
The Student Bulls Club will be signing up new members at the Green & Gold Bowl.  Anyone signing up on Saturday will be registered to win a trip to the USF vs. Notre Dame game compliments of the Image Depot.  Information on the SBC Notre Dame trip will be available at the game. In addition, all students can vote on the design of next year's SBC Under Armour t-shirt.  There are three different designs to choose from.

In 2010, Tampa Mayor Pam Iorio officially declared April 9 as USF DayFounded as a celebration of USF in Tampa, the event was expanded this year to include all campuses in the USF system, including Polytechnic, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota-Manatee.  The campuses will host student-focused events in the days prior to converging on the Tampa campus for Saturday's day of events.

USF Day will kick off at 11:00 a.m. with the USF Veterans on the Green Golf Classic at The Claw at USF, where pre-registered participants will swing their clubs to raise funds to assist student veterans with financial difficulties. Softball and women's soccer fans will enjoy early afternoon games and food, games and music at the USF Day Festival, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the field adjacent to the Soccer and Track Stadium. At 5:00 p.m., USF Bulls football fans will stampede the Soccer and Track Stadium to watch the Bulls football team scrimmage in the Green & Gold Bowl.  Following the Bowl at 7:00 p.m, participants can choose to head to the Baseball/ Softball Complex to root on Bulls baseball or to the Meadows to enjoy Bullstock.  The full schedule of events, times and locations can be found at www.sg.usf.edu/usfday.

All events are free and open to the public, with the following exceptions:

  • - The golf tournament fundraiser is $75 per golfer (register at www.usf.edu/ua/rsvp/veterans).
  • - The baseball and softball games are free for USF students with an ID and to children K-12; tickets for all others are $6 and available for purchase at the game. 
  • - The women's soccer game will serve as a fundraiser benefitting the Nicole Meagloudis Foundation for educational advancement. Tickets for the game are $8.
