A Stampede of Success
USF is proud to be Tampa Bay's Preeminent Florida university, where Bulls student-athletes excel in the classroom and in competition. USF Athletics' nationally acclaimed programs are showcased by dedicated news outlets and professionals, and the Bulls Communications staff is committed to providing a first-class media relations experience to elevate USF Athletics endeavors.
Record-a-Bull
The Bay Area is home to five major television outlets that regularly cover the Bulls in the 11th largest media market in the United States. Tampa Bay is also home to the Tampa Bay Times, the largest newspaper in the southeast and among the top 15 in the nation with a daily circulation of nearly 450,000. The Bulls are covered by daily Bay Area newspapers in Tampa, Sarasota, Bradenton, and Lakeland, with a combined circulation of more than 600,000.
All of Bulls' football games will be carried to a national audience on ABC/ESPN networks or CBS Sports Network, and the War on I-4 between USF and UCF was widely considered the best college football game of 2017, and drew an average total viewing audience of 4.7 million viewers, including more than six million viewers in the final half hour. Along with football, men's and women's basketball and baseball often benefit from television coverage for Bulls fans regionally and nationally.
Running With The Bulls
While Associate Director of Athletics/Communications Director Brian Siegrist and his team manage extensive requests for the American Athletic Conference powerhouse football team, the communications staff works to promote coverage of all 19 USF sports and nearly 450 student-athletes. Members of the media should make their media requests known to Siegrist or one of his assistants 24 hours in advance, to best accommodate the demanding student-athlete schedule of practices, class schedules, competition and extracurricular activities. The communications office is responsible for producing media relations materials including media guides and notes packages, and will coordinate all press appearances and requests for student athletes. Additionally, the communications staff provides game-day management, statistical services, and compiles historical records for each team.

Media Policies
For media requests, the media member should reach out to the respective sport contact on the USF Communications staff, with 24 hours notice to best accommodate the student-athletes schedule. Under no circumstances should media members contact USF coaches or student-athletes without first coordinating with the USF Communications staff. The same policy applies to family members of student-athletes and USF Athletics staff members. Requests for Athletic Director Michael Kelly or other USF Athletics staff members should be directed to Associate AD Brian Siegrist. Media members should request credentials for all sports besides football with the respective communications contact at least 24 hours before the event.
For certain sports, USF will supply downloadable video of press conferences, media accesses, post-game interviews and game-highlights throughout the year via a dedicated Dropbox account. Media wishing to utilize these video elements should contact the USF Communications office to be added to the distribution list for Dropbox invitation.

In Memory of Mike Radomski
On Oct. 12, 2017, the USF Athletic Communications staff lost a member of its family, Mike Radomski, assistant director of communications at the time. His hard work and service for USF Athletics is in the fabric of our story, and his kind demeanor and mentality to #RockThePlanet is missed every day. Many communications professionals in the sports industry and of course his family feel the effects of his loss.
The Michael J. Radomski Memorial Scholarship has been established to honor the memory of Mike Radomski who infused USF Athletics with passion, energy, dedication and kindness during his tenure as assistant director of communications working with men's basketball, baseball, track and field, cross country, volleyball and sailing during his time at USF. Mike was 29 years old when he passed away due to a car accident in the early morning hours of Oct. 12, 2017.
The goal is to create an endowed scholarship (minimum $25,000) that may be awarded on an annual basis in perpetuity through USF Athletics. The recipient would be awarded annually to a full or part-time USF student working as an intern/volunteer for the external departments of USF Athletics (ie. Communications, Marketing, Development, Digital/Social, Video, Broadcast, Tickets). The selection criteria for a recipient of this scholarship would be based on contributions to USF Athletics as well as emulating attributes displayed by Mike Radomski, including passion, dedication and kindness.
