Avery Jacobs began his first season as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications for the Bulls in September 2024. Before arriving in Tampa, he spent two seasons as the Coordinator of Media Relations for the Sacramento Kings.

In his role with the Kings, he was responsible for writing and editing press releases, creating game notes, and compiling the team’s media guide, while also acting as a liaison between the team and the media.

Additionally, Jacobs served as the primary point of contact for the Stockton Kings, the Kings’ G League affiliate. While with the Kings, Jacobs also played a primary role in enhancing the players’ brand and contributed to a basketball operations team that secured its first playoff appearance in 17 years.

Prior to his time with the Kings, Jacobs worked as a multimedia journalist and fill-in sports anchor in Albany, GA, covering everything underneath the sun. He held this role after spending one season with the Los Angeles Rams communications department.

While working for the Rams, Jacobs assisted in garnering media coverage for SoFi Stadium during its inaugural opening. Additionally, he was instrumental in providing coverage opportunities during the 2020 season when the Rams were featured on NFL Films’ Hard Knocks.

Jacobs got his start covering the Florida State Seminoles as a correspondent for the Orlando Sentinel while pursuing his bachelor’s degree in journalism. He graduated cum laude from Florida A&M University in 2019.

Jacobs is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists and a proud brother of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., where he held leadership roles as president and vice president of the Alpha Xi Chapter. He is also the cousin of Dallas Cowboys player Micah Parsons.
