Will Gilchrist came to USF after spending two seasons at the University of Arkansas and will serve as a Quality Control Analyst with a focus on special teams. Gilchrist worked with the Razorbacks as a Defensive Graduate Assistant in 2019 and the Associate Director of Player Personnel in 2018.

In 2019 as a Defensive Graduate Assistant, Gilchrist worked directly with the defensive coordinator and primarily with the linebackers. While serving as Defensive Graduate Assistant, Gilchrist assisted the defensive coaching staff with planning and implementation of the weekly practice and game plans, as well as leading scout team meetings. During the 2019 season, senior linebacker De’Jon Harris ranked second in the SEC with 101 total tackles.

Gilchrist started his career in college football in the recruiting department at Arkansas, where he was the Associate Director of Player Personnel. In this role, he assisted the coaching staff with all recruiting duties, including player evaluations, managing the recruiting board and also all on-campus visits. While working in the recruiting department, Gilchrist was able to assist in signing a top 25 class nationally.

Prior to getting into the college ranks, Gilchrist was the Offensive Coordinator/Quarterback Coach in his hometown of Savannah, Tenn., at Hardin Country High School, working on staff with the Tigers from 2014-2017. Hardin County made playoff appearances in all four seasons and won a region championship in 2014.

Gilchrist played college football at the University of Memphis from 2009-2012. He served on special teams in seven games during the 2011 season. After switching from quarterback to wide receiver in 2012, he saw action at wide receiver in the 2012 season. Gilchrist received his bachelor's degree in sports and leisure management.

Gilchrist was born Feb. 23, 1990, in Jackson, Tenn., and was a four-year letter winner at Hardin County High School. He was rated as the No. 1 quarterback in Tennessee, the No. 22 dual-threat quarterback nationally and was a Mr. Football finalist in 2008. He also played basketball at Hardin County, where he scored more than 1,000 points and dished out over 500 assists.

He is married to Meredith Gilchrist, and they have two children - son, Hall Gilchrist (3), and daughter, Guinn Gilchrist (1).
