Andy Wassman joined Chris Mack’s first South Florida staff as associate basketball general manager in April of 2026.
Wessman comes to Tampa after serving for two years as a graduate assistant at BYU (2024-26).
In his role at BYU, he assisted in all aspects of player recruitment and talent evaluation and contributed to securing the No. 4 ranked overall recruiting class nationally (247Sports). BYU also secured the 18th ranked high school recruiting class, including the No. 1 recruit in the nation, and the 15th ranked overall transfer class (247Sports).
Wessman previously served at ProMondo Sports as a basketball operations associate.
A graduate of DePauw University (2024) with a degree in communications, he served as a student manager for the basketball team for a season before becoming student director of basketball operations (2022-24).
A native of Chicago, he holds his high school’s record for charges taken in a game (7) and also boxed in high school.
