Tom Homa joined the USF men’s soccer staff as the Director of Operations in May 2019. His primary responsibilities will surround performance analysis, team travel coordination, community outreach, video breakdown, and marketing and promotions.
Homa comes to USF from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, where he served as the Men’s Soccer Graduate Assistant for two years and helped the team reach the MIAC tournament championship and NCAA tournament for the first time since 2010. Additionally, he coached and mentored the program’s first United Soccer Coaches All-American/Scholar All-American since 2009 and D3Soccer.com All-American ever in 2018 as well as four All-North Region and seven All-MIAC recipients between 2017 and 2018. He also coached two youth teams at area club BV United and received the club’s Male Coach of the Year honors in 2018.
Prior to arriving at Augsburg, Homa was a four-year student-athlete and starter on the men's club team at the University of Illinois, which does not sponsor a men's NCAA Division I program. As president and player-coach of the club, he led the team to two national tournament appearances during his junior and senior seasons. Homa was also a manager and practice player for the women’s NCAA Division I team at Illinois, followed by serving as a national teams camp coordinator for U.S. Soccer.

Homa, who holds a U.S. Soccer National D Coaching License, graduated with honors from Illinois in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain Management and Marketing from the Gies College of Business and worked as a marketing consultant in Chicago before beginning his collegiate coaching career.
