Senior (2012-2013): Went 6-11 in the spring...Went 0-3 in the Bulls' no. 3 spot, 1-3 in the 4, 3-4 in th 5th position and 1-1 as 6.. Went 5-8 in doubles play with a mixture of Federico Sabogal and Everth Dzib...Competed in two fall tournaments for the Bulls...He completed the season with a 2-2 record.

Junior (2011-12) - Competed in 24 dual meets for the Bulls compiling a 11-12 singles record...Compiled a 6-5 singles record during the fall schedule...Earned a win at the ITA Regionals in Athens, Ga. against FAMU's Chidi Gabriel...Teamed up with Sebastian Hagn in doubles and together went 1-3 during the fall.

Sophomore (2010-11) - Compiled an 11-5 dual match record and an 18-12 overall record ... Played primarily at No. 5 or No. 6, with one match in the No. 4 position ... Earned wins that helped the Bulls to victories over ranked opponents VCU, DePaul, Texas A&M - Corpus Christi and Iowa.

Freshman (2009-10) - Went 6-6 in dual matches and 14-11 overall while competing primarily in the No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions...Helped lead the Bulls to a 4-2 victory over St. John's in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Championships with his 6-4, 6-4 singles victory over Martin Kosut... Teamed up with sophomore Mark Oljaca in the No. 3 doubles position and together went 2-3 in dual matches.

Highschool/Juinors: Graduated from the Thomas Jefferson Institute in Mexico...Gerard joins the Bulls after having won seven national singles championships and six doubles national championships...Gerard was also ranked No. 1 in Mexico in 2007 and 2008 in the U-18 rankings...In 2008 Gerard gathered his first ATP points and received a bronze medal in the Central American and Caribbean Olympic Games.

Personal: Born Juan Carlos Acuna Gerard on November 13th, 1990 in Mexico City, Mexico to Marlene Gerard and Juan Carlos Acuna ... has two sisters, Marlene (22) and Fernanda (17) ... Enjoies swimming, running, music and movies.
