Karly Niemann enters her first year as Intern Athletic Trainer for the USF Football and Women’s Tennis programs in 2022. She joins USF after working with the Football and Men’s and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Teams as an Athletic Training Student at the University of Montana.
While an Athletic Training Student at the University of Montana, Niemann gained firsthand experience working with Griz Football where she assisted in the creation of rehab programs, tracked daily treatments, and supervised athletes when using the Alter-G and Aquafit systems. She also acquired experience in utilizing blood flow restriction, ultrasound, and IASTM techniques. With Montana Track and Field, Karly developed and improved her palpation, joint mobilization, documentation skills. She also assembled Covid-19 testing kits and performed weekly PCR testing. Along with her University of Montana experience, Niemann has also spent time with USF Football during a summer internship in 2021. In her first stint here, she was responsible for the daily clinical duties of restocking training room, practice field setup, and training room sanitation. Karly graduated from the University of Montana in 2022 with her Master of Athletic Training and from Black Hills State University with her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science in 2019.
Karly is a BOC Certified Athletic trainer, Florida Licensed Athletic Trainer, and member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. She holds additional certifications in CPR/AED technique and Graston M1. She enjoys weightlifting, finding new food spots, and many outdoor activities.
