Federico Rossi enters his 2nd year at the University of South Florida as an Associate Athletic Trainer. His primary sport responsibility is Track and Field/XC. In this role, he provides injury evaluation, therapeutic intervention strategies, and collaborative sports medicine care for the athletes under his care.
Federico comes to USF after finishing his Graduate Assistantship at the University of South Carolina. While at USC, Rossi primarily worked with the Track & Field and Cross Country Programs. He assisted with the prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and triage of athletic injuries. Additionally, he served as a preceptor for the Athletic Training Program at USC. Federico graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2022 with his Master of Science in Advanced Athletic Training.
Rossi is no stranger to the responsibility many student-athletes. Before his time at USC, he worked at Benedict College as Co-Head Athletic Trainer. In that role, Rossi oversaw student-athletes in the Football, Men’s & Women’s Basketball, and Volleyball programs. Additionally, he handled budgeting, inventory, and other tasks of Benedict College Sport Medicine. Prior to his time at Benedict, Federico gained additional clinical experience at Presbyterian College as an Intern Athletic Trainer. While there, he was assisted in the care of the Football, Cheer, and Tennis Programs.
Committed to the field of Athletic Training early on, Rossi attended Missouri Valley College and Iowa Western Community College. As an Athletic Training Student, he worked with many of programs including the Missouri Valley College Men’s Soccer Program that attended the 2017 NAIA Men’s Soccer National Championship. He graduated from Missouri Valley College in 2018 after he earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and from Iowa Western Community College with his Associate of Science in Athletic Training in 2016.
Federico excels not only clinically, but in the classroom as well. He has earned multiple Athletic Training Student of the Year awards, Dean’s List Honors, most recently the Athletic Training Inspiration Award & Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer of the Year awards at the University of South Carolina.
Federico Rossi is a BOC Certified Athletic trainer and Florida Licensed Athletic Trainer. He holds additional certifications in CPR/AED technique, Graston M1, and COVID-19 Contact Tracing. He enjoys hiking, being outdoors, and visiting new places.
