Missed the first nine games of the season after sitting out due to NCAA transfer rules ... Saw action in 15 games for USF and got the starting nod six times ... Was tied for fifth on the team in scoring averaging 5.4 points per game and fourth in rebounding pulling in 5.3 rebounds per contest ... Also led the team in blocked shots with 26 in her 15 outings while the next closest was 22 in 28 games (Jessica Lawson) ... Her 26 rejections at the conclusion of the season ranks her tied for 12th on the school's single season list ... Began her USF playing career against Oregon (12/18/07) in the first game of the Cancun Caribbean Challenge in Mexico ... Made her presence felt in the second and final game of the event against Belmont (12/19/07) netting a season-high 16 points on 5-9 shooting from the field (.556) and 6-7 (.857) from the charity stripe ... Recorded back-to-back double-doubles in the other two outings she scored 10 or more points ... Had an 11-point, 12-rebound effort against St. John's (1/8/08) and a 10-point, 13-rebound outing against Syracuse (1/12/08) ... Her 13 boards equaled her career-best originally established at Miami ... In addition to her double-double against the Orange, Denson also swatted a career-high five shots and then matched that against Cincinnati (2/9/08).
2006-07 (Sophomore)
Played in 17 games while getting the starting nod in 16 before deciding to transfer to USF ... Was third on the team in scoring, averaging 8.4 points and paced the team in rebounding grabbing, 6.9 per outing ... She also led the team on the year in total blocked shots with 17 (1.0 bpg) ... Was quite impressive from the field in her 17 games shooting 50.4 percent (60-119) ... Recorded four double-doubles on the season and tallied six games in double figures ... Established a new career high with 23 points while grabbing 12 rebounds against Florida International (12/5/06) ... Also had an 18-point, 10-rebound effort at Santa Clara (11/5/06) in the first game of a three-game Northern California trip ... Closed out the trio of games in the “Golden State” with 14 points and eight rebounds at San Francisco (11/19/06) ... Hauled down a career-high 13 rebounds in the season opener against Georgia State (11/10/06) ... Blocked two shots in four games against Santa Clara, Florida International, Coppin State (12/28/06) and at Duke (1/3/07).
2005-06 (Freshman)
Averaged 5.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per outing during her freshman year prior to having a season-ending knee injury ... Finished the year fourth on the team in scoring and second in rebounding ... Prior to her setback, she established herself as a big, physical post-player who was certainly on her way to being a dominating defensive force in the Atlantic Coast Conference ... In her 22 games as a rookie - including 11 starts - Denson blocked 30 shots (1.4 bpg) which was the seventh-highest single-season total in school history and the most since 1997 ... She was also second on the team in offensive rebounds per game, grabbing 2.3 per outing, and fourth in defensive boards hauling down 3.0 per contest ... Scored a then career-high 16 points, including 14 in the first half, and grabbed seven rebounds against Georgia Tech (1/5/06) in a performance that earned her ACC Rookie of the Week Honors ... That honor marked the first time in Miami history that a women’s basketball player earned the accolade ... Became the first Hurricane player to earn a double-double since the 2002-03 campaign with a 12-point, 10-rebound effort against Montana (12/16/05) ... Tallied nine points and eight rebounds in her first career start against Hartford (12/10/05).
High School
Played scholastically at Winter Haven High School where she was widely regarded as one of the top five players and the top post player in the state of Florida ... Was also tabbed as one of the top 77 players in America coming out of high school ... Was nominated for the McDonald’s High School All-America team and was a Street & Smith’s High School Honorable Mention All-American in 2002 and 2003 ... Earned first team all-state and first team all-district following her senior year at Winter Haven ... She helped Winter Haven to a 29-1 record en route to a State Championship in 2005 ... That season she was also named the Florida State Tournament Most Valuable Player.
