Erin Barbour joined the University of South Florida as an Associate Athletic Trainer in 2021. Her primary sport responsibility is women’s basketball. In this role she provides injury evaluation, therapeutic intervention strategies, and collaborative sports medicine care for the Bulls.
Barbour came to USF after a successful career at the University of Tulsa. During her time at Tulsa from 2017 – 21, Barbour served as the Assistant Director of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trainer for women’s basketball and rowing. In these roles, she assisted with all sports teams during day-to day coverage in athletic training room, evaluated and treated a wide variety of sports injuries, and communicated & consulted with the sport nutritionist and psychologists to ensure safe lifestyles of the athletes under her care. She also supervised athletic training undergraduate and master’s students.
Prior to her full-time roles, Barbour began her time with Tulsa sports medicine as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer. Her primary sport assignment was with the softball, women’s rowing, and football programs.
She graduated from Tulsa with her Master of Science in Math and Science Education in 2018. Barbour graduated from Baylor University in 2016 with Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. As an athletic training student, Barbour gained a wide array of experience after working with the Baylor football, softball, women’s basketball, acrobatics, and tumbling programs.
Barbour is a BOC Certified Athletic trainer, Florida Licensed Athletic Trainer, and member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. She holds additional certifications in Dry Needling, CPR/AED technique, and IV Therapy.
Barbour currently resides in Wesley Chapel, Fla. She enjoys going to the beach, baking, and watching sports at home in her free time with her dog Luna.
