Albrecht served as the primary contact for the baseball team upon arriving at South Florida in the spring of 2021 as the Bulls made a historic postseason run which culminated in the program’s first-ever NCAA Super Regional appearance.

Prior to USF, Albrecht was the Assistant Athletics Director for Communications & Digital Strategy at Lynn University (Fla.) in 2020, the Director of Athletic Communications at Winona State University (Minn.) from 2017-20 and the Sports Information Director/Assistant Athletic Director at Midland University (Neb.) from 2013-17.

During his tenure at Winona State, Albrecht oversaw 15 NCAA Division II sports, redesigned the athletics website, launched and managed a new mobile fan app, and successfully hosted three NCAA Regional events (football and softball twice). He also ran the Hall of Fame Committee and oversaw the implementation of a state-of-the-art Daktronics videoboard while serving as the digital content manager and production director during game days.

As Sports Information Director at Midland, Albrecht was hired to oversee 25 NAIA sports teams. When the department grew to 31 varsity sports, he was promoted to Assistant AD. In addition to his SID duties, Albrecht oversaw Midland’s NAIA Champions of Character initiative and served as the department’s liaison for internal and external athletic communications, marketing and promotions.

Albrecht was recognized nationally in CoSIDA’s 30 Under 30 in 2016, and has served on several CoSIDA and NAIA-SIDA committees.

His department’s work was recognized annually for excellence in the NAIA-SIDA Publications & Media Contest. Under Albrecht’s leadership, Midland garnered 14 Top-10 finishes in numerous categories over three years, including first place for Twitter Followers Gained in 2015-16.

Midland’s Twitter account nearly tripled in followers during Albrecht’s tenure to become not only the largest in the conference, but one of the most followed in the entire NAIA. He also launched the department’s Instagram account.

Albrecht oversaw the implementation of Stretch Internet for home broadcasts and Midland’s award-winning website redesign in 2016.

Prior to his time at Midland, Albrecht spent four years working in professional baseball in public/media relations. His stops included the Lake County Fielders (Independent), Iowa Cubs (MiLB), Jupiter Hammerheads (MiLB) and Chicago White Sox (MLB).

He also worked with the Miami Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals during Spring Training, and alongside Major League Baseball officials to host the inaugural World Baseball Classic Qualifier at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida in 2012.

A native of Lansing, Illinois, Albrecht graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Sports Management and earned his Master’s in Leadership Education: Sports Management from Winona State in 2020.

He and his wife, Chloe, welcomed a daughter, Willow, in April of 2023.Â
