Bri Hutchen joined Kristy Curry’s first South Florida staff as Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator in April 2026.
BEFORE SOUTH FLORIDA
Hutchen came to South Florida after four seasons as assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Delaware. In the 2024-25 season, Delaware set a new single-season record for made threes as a team with 206, while Ella Wanzer led the CAA in 3-point shooting 38 percent. Hutchen coached Tara Cousin, who won the CAA Dean Ehlers Leadership Award during the 2022-23 season, the league’s most prestigious honor.
Prior to Delaware, Hutchen spent a season at George Washington (2021-22) and three seasons (2018-21) at Stony Brook as an assistant coach. With the Seawolves, she helped the program to the 2020 America East Regular Season Championship and the 2021 America East Tournament Championship, earning the automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. During the 2018-19 season, the Seawolves broke two program records in single-season 3-pointers and assists. Hutchen also served as the program’s liaison for the Black Student-Athlete Huddle Committee.
Before Stony Brook, Hutchen spent three seasons on staff at Iona University (2015-18), serving as director of operations for two years before being promoted to assistant coach prior to the 2017-18 season. While on staff, the Gaels won the MAAC Tournament, clinching a berth in the 2016 NCAA Tournament. During her tenure, Hutchen assisted with practice and scouting, film breakdown, recruiting and camp coordination.
Hutchen played college basketball for Kristy Curry at Alabama, where she earned both a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s in human environmental science. She is the developer of U.S.E. Basketball, a mentoring program based out of the DMV area, giving young girls the opportunity to connect with people from a familiar background and help set and achieve life goals.
