Chance Harris joined the South Florida football staff in January of 2026 as an offensive analyst (running backs) on Brian Hartline’s first Bulls staff.

Harris came to USF after a season at North Carolina Wesleyan (2025) serving as the program’s running backs coach in his first full-time coaching position. Wesleyan ran for 2,199 yards (194.8 ypg) and 18 touchdowns on the year to lead their conference. Running back Nahjiir Seagraves was voted the USA South Offensive Player of the Year after leading the conference running for 1,236 yards (137.3 ypg) and scoring thirteen rushing touchdowns. He also was dominant in conference-only rushing yards (671) and touchdowns (8), earning First Team All-Conference honors and Second Team All-America.

A four-year letterwinner at Morehead State, Harris played in 38 career games for the Eagles from 2021 to 2024. He totaled 827 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 283 carries, while adding 171 receiving yards and two scores through the air. Harris also contributed on special teams, collecting 230 kick return yards over his career.

His most productive season came in 2022, when he ranked second on the team with 404 rushing yards and added a receiving touchdown. Known for his versatility, Harris saw action as a runner, receiver, and returner throughout his career.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Morehead State in exercise science.

Originally from Tazewell, Va., Harris played high school football at Tazewell High School before continuing his career at the Division I FCS level.
