Kingston was named Assistant Quarterbacks Coach in March of 2025, joining head coach Alex Golesh’s third staff at South Florida.
Kingston came to USF following four seasons at Utah State, where he most recently served as the Aggies’ quarterbacks coach in 2024 after spending the 2023 campaign as an offensive analyst. He began his tenure at Utah State as an offensive graduate assistant from 2021–22.
In 2023, Kingston helped guide the Aggies to six wins and an appearance in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl—USU’s third consecutive bowl berth and its 11th in the past 13 seasons. That season, Utah State led the Mountain West and ranked 25th nationally in total offense (438.6 yards per game), while also finishing top-30 in scoring offense (33.2 ppg) and rushing offense (184.4 ypg). The team also ranked 43rd nationally in passing offense at 254.2 yards per game.
In 2022, Kingston helped the Aggies to six wins and a trip to the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl. It marked a continuation of the program’s momentum from 2021, when Utah State delivered the best season in school history. The 2021 squad tied a school record with 11 wins (11-3), captured its first-ever Mountain West Championship with a 46–13 win over No. 19 San Diego State, and defeated Oregon State in the Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl. The Aggies finished that year ranked No. 24 in both final national polls.
Utah State’s high-powered offense set six single-season school records during the 2021 campaign, including 41 touchdown passes, 4,248 passing yards, and three receivers, each recording 10 or more touchdown receptions. The unit also tied school marks for most 100-yard receiving games (13) and most touchdown passes in a single game (5). The Aggies eclipsed 600 yards of total offense twice and recorded three games with over 400 passing yards—each performance ranking in the top 16 in program history.
Utah State closed the 2021 season ranked 15th nationally in passing offense (303.4 ypg), 23rd in total offense (445.6 ypg), and 33rd in scoring offense (32.6 ppg). The Aggies were also the only team in the country to have three receivers with at least 10 touchdown catches.
With Kingston’s support, quarterback Logan Bonner set five school records in 2021, including 3,628 passing yards and 36 touchdown passes. Bonner threw four or more touchdown passes in six different games and tied the school record with five passing touchdowns in a single contest. He finished the year ranked seventh in the FBS in total touchdown passes.
Before entering coaching, Kingston was a collegiate quarterback, beginning his career at Wake Forest before transferring to UCF, where he spent four years with the Knights. He graduated from UCF in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in human communications.
A native of Melbourne, Fla., Kingston starred at Viera High School where he earned second-team all-state honors in Class 7A and was the Florida Dairy Farmers Player of the Year runner-up. As a senior in 2015, he threw for 3,876 yards and 42 touchdowns—leading the state of Florida in passing yards and finishing second in touchdowns. He also earned First Team All-District 12, All-Cape Coast Conference, and multiple regional Offensive Player of the Year honors. As a junior, Kingston completed 72 percent of his passes and threw 23 touchdowns.
