John-Allen Stone was named football operations coordinator/special assistant to the head coach for South Florida football in February of 2023.
In his role, he oversees Head Coach Alex Golesh’s daily itinerary and calendar as well as his travel logistics. Additionally, Stone plays a major role in the coordination of Coach Golesh’s media appearance schedule and assists Director of Football Operations Zach Cole with team travel logistics, event and practice schedules, and day-to-day program operations. Stone also serves as the parent liaison for the Bulls, communicating key dates and information to players parents and guardians.
Stone came to South Florida after serving two years in football operations at the University of Tennessee (2021-2022) – one as a graduate student volunteer and one as a graduate assistant. At Tennessee, he was privileged to work under the guidance of Andrew Warsaw (current USF NIL General Manager/Football Chief of Staff) on Josh Heupel’s Volunteer football staff that included current USF Head Coach Alex Golesh. In his role, Stone assisted with all phases of team travel, daily building operations, prospect camp planning, player onboarding, and day-to-day procedures.
During his time at Tennessee, Stone played a role in the planning and execution of Tennessee’s appearance in the 2021 Music City Bowl and he spearheaded Tennessee’s preparation and logistical movements for the 2022 Orange Bowl.
Prior to joining the Volunteers, Stone served as a student assistant at Mercer University (2017-2021) where he assisted the staff of both Bobby Lamb and Drew Cronic with operations, Recruiting, and equipment. During the 2019 season, Stone oversaw game day recruiting for the Bears, managing and assigning duties to the game day recruiting student staff. He also aided the director of football operations in team management, ordering team meals, and developing travel itineraries. Stone also assisted the equipment manager in the preparation and execution of practice.
Born in Columbia, Tennessee, Stone attended high school at Columbia Central in Maury County. He earned a bachelor’s degrees in sports marketing and analytics and also in economics from Mercer University in 2021. He completed his master’s degree in recreation and sport management from the University of Tennessee in the Spring of 2024.
Stone and his wife, Bailey, reside in New Tampa.
