Kelly Anderson

Kelly Anderson joined the USF women’s tennis program in October 2013 as an assistant coach. She served as interim head coach for the Bulls during the 2015 season.

Anderson arrived in Tampa after serving one season as an assistant coach with Illinois.  She helped guide the team to a final team ranking of 45 nationally.  Anderson also tutored the duo of Melissa Kopinksi and Rachael White who ended the season ranked 15th in doubles and earned All-American status.

Prior to Illinois, Anderson was an assistant coach at Campbellsville University where she was part of the men’s and women’s staff.  In her lone season with the Tigers, Anderson led the men’s team to a National Christian College Athletic Association title in 2012 and led both the men’s and women’s squad to Mid-South Conference championships.

Professionally, Anderson played on both the Women’s Tennis Association and International Tennis Federation reaching as high as No. 135 in the WTA doubles world rankings.  During her time on both tours, she won six tournaments and finished as runner-up five times.

Anderson was a four-year letter winner at Georgia Tech garnering ACC Rookie of the Year honors in 2003, becoming the first-ever GT women’s tennis player to receive that accolade.  She was a member of the All-ACC team in 2004.  In 2003, Anderson ended the year ranked 28th in doubles and in 2006, completed the season 35th in singles.  The Yellow Jackets won the ACC Tournament in both 2005 and 2006 while finishing the ’06 season ranked sixth nationally. 

Academically, Anderson was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District III Team and an ITA Scholar-Athlete during her sophomore and junior seasons.  She was also named to the All-ACC Academic Team all four years.
