Larry Scott III joined head coach Alex Golesh’s USF football staff in February of 2024 as a quality control analyst working with the outside linebackers.
In coming to USF, he joined a program that his father, Larry, played for from 1997-99 and served on the coaching staff for from 2005-2012.
The younger Scott came to USF after serving two seasons as a member of the defensive staff for the University of West Alabama football program (2022-23), coaching the defensive line.
Prior to his time at West Alabama, Scott served as the defensive quality control coach at Howard University, where he worked under his father leading the program as head coach. Prior to that he was a graduate assistant coach at North Carolina State working with the defensive line after coaching high school defensive line in the Dallas (Texas) Independent School District.
Scott played at Miles College where he helped lead the Golden Tiger to a 2015 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and earned Presidential Scholar honors from 2013-2017.
