Tyler Pacheco joined the University of South Florida men’s basketball team as the director of basketball operations in June 2025.
Pacheco spent the last two seasons at The University of Texas, where he served as the director of recruiting after a stint as a graduate manager. While with the Longhorns, he played a role in the team’s back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, once in the Big 12 and the other in the SEC.
During the 2023-24 season in Austin, Texas posted a 21-13 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Round of 32. With its victory over Colorado State in the NCAA Round of 64, the Longhorns won their NCAA First Round game for the third consecutive season. This marked the first time Texas has accomplished the feat since UT won four-straight NCAA First-Round games from 2006-09.

He was named to the 2024 50 Nxt Up – Men’s Support Staff by Silver Waves Media. The list identified 50 individuals who are ‘Next Up’ to receive promotions to assistant coach roles.
In July of 2024, Pacheco was named the director of basketball operations at Cal State Fullerton and was an on-the-floor coach for the Titans. He returned to Texas in October of 2024.
Pacheco earned his bachelor’s degree in communication with a minor in marketing from the University of Arizona in 2023. While an undergraduate, Pacheco was a coach and a director of Jalen Green Elite on the Adidas 3SSB circuit. He coached over 20 players who earned NCAA Division I scholarships, including an NBA first-round selection in AJ Johnson. He spent his summers assisting in NBA pre-draft and various skill development sessions. The players he worked with include Klay Thompson, Jalen Green, Bennedict Mathurin, P.J. Washington, Cole Swider, and Stanley Johnson.
A native of Fresno, Calif., Pacheco was a three-year letterwinner in basketball at Clovis East High School. He served as captain in his senior season while leading the team to the 2020 Division I Central Section title.
