Tyler Hitchcock Finishes Third in BIG EAST-MAC Challenge; Bulls Place Second

(November 6, 2005) Although the USF men's golf team couldn't win its second straight tournament to complete its fall schedule in the BIG EAST-MAC Challenger, Tyler Hitchcock picked up a third place finish to lead the Bulls to second place in the 11-team event played at Orange County National Golf Center in Winter Park.

USF had entered today's final round with a three-shot lead over Marquette, but shot a 290 today, 14 shots behind Marquette's 276. Marquette won with an 852 total, 11 shots ahead of the Bulls.

Hitchcock shot 69-72-70 to finish four shots behind medalist Mark Cimarolli of Ohio. Kevin Tilbury tied for 12th with rounds of 71-76-71, and USF was also represented by Justin Fetcho (14th, 67-77-75), Chris Black (20th, 73-73-75) and Greg O'Mahony (20th, 68-79-74).
