USF WoMen's Soccer Downed 4-1 By Seton Hall

NEWARK, N.J. (Sept. 29, 2006) ? The University of South Florida women's soccer team lost 4-1 to the Seton Hall Pirates in BIG EAST play Friday afternoon in New Jersey.
The Bulls are now 5-4-1 overall and 2-2-0 in the BIG EAST.
After a quick score from Seton Hall in the sixth minute, USF junior Lindsay Brauer scored an unassisted breakaway goal in the 43rd minute to even the score at one apiece. The goal was Brauer's eighth of the season and the 20th point in her USF career.
After the intermission, Seton Hall added back-to-back goals in the 55th and 59th minutes, including a penalty kick, then again in the 83rd to end the game 4-1. Senior goalkeeper Casey Garrett made three saves in 90 minutes, while Pirate goalie Amanda Becker stopped four shots, two from Brauer and one apiece from Jeannette Dyer and Michelle Buskey.
USF took seven total shots in the game while Seton Hall attempted 14. The Bulls earned five corner kicks and the Pirates had eight.
USF will play at Rutgers on Sunday, Oct. 1 before returning to the USF Soccer Stadium for a four-game homestand. On Friday, Oct. 6 the Bulls face nationally ranked West Virginia (No. 6/7) at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Sunday afternoon game with Pittsburgh (1 p.m.).
The following Friday/Sunday series will be played against Louisville at 7:30 on Oct. 13 and the 1 p.m. Cincinnati game on Oct. 15 will be the final regular-season home game for the Bulls.
