NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Jeremy Hazell scored 22 points and Jamar Nutter added 13 points as Seton Hall beat the University of South Florida 74-64 on Thursday night.

John Garcia scored 10 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for the Pirates (11-6, 1-3 in the Big East Conference), who snapped a two-game losing streak.

Kentrell Gransberry had 21 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Bulls (10-8, 1-4), while Jesus Verdejo added 13 points.

South Florida raced out to an early 12-6 lead, but Seton Hall then took command by scoring 15 straight points - all from 3-point range.

The Bulls tried to rally in the second half, cutting the deficit to 36-33, but the Pirates responded with a 10-0 run fueled by Hazell, who hit two 3-pointers and added a conventional three-point play.
