The Bulls jumped out early on the Nittany Lions as they claimed decisive doubles victories in the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to capture the doubles point and take an early 1-0 lead. Junior Allyn Mueller and sophomore Jessica Zok teamed up to get the Bulls started. The two combined to shut out Morzan and Dohawics, 8-0. Sophomore Irene Rehberger and junior Lauren Shumate clinched the doubles point as they made quick work of Lotto and Miscal, 8-2.
Heading into singles action, the Bulls picked up right where they left off. on their way to sweeping all six sngles matches. Rehberger would continue her impressive singles play with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Monika Mical in the No. 1 singles. Rehberger is now 4-1 since her debut against Texas A&M.
In the No. 2 singles Jessica Zok picked up a straight set win over Lauren McCarthy, 6-3, 6-1 and in the No.3 slot Iciri Rai continues to play well and today was no different as she tallied a straight set win, 6-2, 6-2, over Dorothy Dohanics.
Guevara's win in the No. 4 singles was the only singles match to go three sets but she took care of Maria Prishlyak in a super tie breaker, 6-4,4-6,11-9. The Bulls would get two more victories from their No. 5 and 6 sinles as Mueller made disposed of Leyla Morzan, 6-3, 6-0 and Shumate took care of Michaela Stracar, 6-4, 6-0.
The Bulls now 3-8 on the season will continue their eight match home stand on Sunday, March 15 when they host Syracuse at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts at 11 a.m.
