Injury Updates As we first reported on Twitter, senior wide receiver Jessie Hester will be out for the remainder of the spring with an ankle injury. The injury occurred during last Saturday's scrimmage, the seventh practice of the spring.
“We know Jessie can play,” Leavitt said Tuesday. “I want to get him healthy.”
Also sidelined or limited with injuries right now are Josh Garvin (sick), Andreas Shields (ankle), Jeff Hawkins (shoulder), Jake Sims (hand) and Justin Wilkins (shoulder). AJ Love (knee) and Jamar Taylor (shoulder) have been out all spring but are expected back this fall.
Quote of the Day Coach Leavitt called B.J. Daniels a, "magician," during his post-practice media session. Leavitt has been effusive in his praise of Daniels and fellow redshirt-freshman quarterback Evan Landi this spring.
Scrimmage Wrapup Head coach Jim Leavitt always prefaces his comments after a scrimmage with, "but I have to watch the film." On Tuesday he was ready to talk about the Saturday scrimmage and said that he came away impressed after watching it on two occasions, Saturday and Sunday.
The quarterbacks contiue to impress, as did a large group of other players that Leavitt named specificially. We'll let the video do the talking:

Track & Field Love Coach Leavitt, a former track and field coach at Morningside College (Iowa), watched a portion of the USF Quad Track Meet this weekend and had high praise for USF track and field head coach Warren Bye and his program.
"That new track is one of the best in the country. It's a great facility. I think our program is going to take off and do a lot of great things," said Leavitt.
Leavitt coached five All-Americans in track at Morningside from 1982-87.
"I've always loved track and field, it goes back to my coaching days," said Leavitt.
Hitting the Weight Room Prior to the start of Spring Football, the team went through winter conditioning. The annual conditioning season is vital in the progress of first-year players, who are trying to complete the physical transition to college football.
We asked head strength coach Ronnie McKeefery to highlight some players that made impressive gains this off-season and he went through his list with BullsVision host Jim Louk. McKeefery also gave us an exclusive look at video from their winter testing.
We'll begin the Weight Room Gains features with four players: Evan Landi, Terrell McClain, Craig Marshall and Cory Grissom
Watch Weight Room Feature on Evan Landi | Landi's Thoughts
Landi could easily be described as the most newsworthy player this spring. Fans are quickly taking-a-liking to the young quarterback, who is also working at wide receiver and has the coaches raving. Coach McKeefery has high expectations for him as well, "We have got to get him on the field because of his level of athleticism."
Below are a comparison of Landi's results from when he first reported on campus to testing the end of winter conditioning. Here is what each category stands for:
