
USF Baseball Receives Votes In NCBWA Poll

TAMPA ? The University of South Florida baseball team has added another national honor to their list of accomplishments this season as the Bulls received votes in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll on April 27.
The Bulls join three 2009 opponents on the list, including No. 11 Oklahoma, No. 20 Florida and Eastern Illinois (receiving votes).
This week, USF is also ranked No. 25 by College Baseball News and is receiving votes in the USA Today/ESPN Coaches poll.
USF last received votes in the NCBWA regular season poll twice in 2007, first on Feb. 19, and again on Feb. 26. The Bulls also received votes in the NCBWA preseason poll in 2008.
The NCBWA continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the 12th year with its 2009 weekly surveys. Weekly polls will continue from Feb. 23 to June 25, following the NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb.
Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport.
The poll voters come from 30 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. This week's poll has representation by 11 different conferences among the 302 baseball-playing schools in the 2009 NCAA Division I ranks.
