ORLANDO-Â Â Hitting the road for the first time this season, the University of South Florida men's basketball team (1-2) dropped a 65-59 decision to Central Florida on Thursday at the UCF Arena in Orlando.
Junior forward Ron Anderson Jr led USF in scoring with a season-high 18 points off the bench in 28 minutes of play.Â
Tonight marked the second straight contest that the transfer from Kansas State has scored in double figures. In addition, Anderson pulled down seven rebounds and converted 10 of 11 from the foul line.
Juniors Augustus Gilchrist and Hugh Roberston pitched in with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Robertson led the Bulls on the boards with a season-high eight rebounds.He also had five assists on the night to lead the Bulls.
After trailing 38-29 at the half, the Bulls used a 14-2 run over the span of six minutes to take a 43-40 lead but the Knights responded by outscoring the Bulls 25-16 over the final 13:55 of the game.
The Bulls will look to get back on track when they welcome Georgia Southern to the Sun Dome on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 2 p.m. The game will be televised on Bright House Sports Network.
