TAMPA - 2010 University of South Florida incoming freshman Liz Barton has been named to Volleyball Magazine's Fab-50 list. Volleyball Magazine lists the top-50 high school seniors each year in no particular order.
Barton is the first player to be named to Volleyball Magazine's Fab-50 list not just under Head Coach Claire Lessinger's reign, but the first for USF as a program.
In 2009, Barton had 320 kills and 153 digs for Notre Dame Academy. Additionally, she served up 37 aces while adding 41 solo blocks.
Other awards Barton has collected include: All-Tournament District Team, Most Valuable Player in the Regional Tournament, NKGHSVCA Division I First Team, NKAC All-Conference Team, Enquirer All-State and KVCA Second Team All-State.
Barton joins Washington State transfer Kimika Rozier and local high school product Kayla Walton as the newest members of USF volleyball for the 2010 season.
