Photo Name: 1982 Sun Belt Champs Since it is conference tournament time, it felt like a good opportunity to look back at previous conference championships, including the 1982 Sun Belt Championship. That year, the Bulls took the title at home, as evidenced in this picture, by defeating Charlotte and then South Alabama twice for the crown May 7-9 of that year. That was also the year the Bulls went 45-13 overall and made an appearance in the NCAA Regional in Coral Gables, Fla., defeating Florida before dropping a pair to Miami and Stetson. The 1982 championship was the first of three conference tournament championships for the Bulls in the Sun Belt, as USF also won the Metro Conference tournament in the mid-90s.
