Photo Name: Red McEwen From Sun Dome
Funny how different Red McEwen looks in this photo taken from atop the Sun Dome, especially the housing development across 50th street, yet how much is still the same. Pretty soon a shot like this won't exist anymore, at least not in this arrangement, as the new stadium will be built on the same location, just with home plate located where the right field corner is now. The Sun Dome will have to now take the title of ' landmark building' in the USF Athletics complex with new baseball and softball stadiums, the Muma Basketball Center, the USF Athletics Building, the new dining hall and the soccer/track and field stadium all having been built (or soon to be built) or completely remodeled this decade. Even Raymond James Stadium opened up in 1998.
