Day One - Thursday, Aug. 5
Practice Report
Day 1 of 2010 Fall Camp is in the books for Coach Skip Holtz and the USF Football team.

The Bulls, who were greeted by 30+ members of the Bay Area media hit the field for the first of four practices in Tampa before they head to the east coast of Florida to resume camp at the Vero Beach Sports Village on Sunday evening.

Coach Holtz was pleased with the team's effort, liked the intensity displayed and the team morale. In addition to sporting white helmets today, the Bulls also wore white and green cleats instead of the traditional black kicks.

Despite some lingering storm clouds in the area, the Bulls practiced for a solid two and half hours as the forecasted afternoon storms held off just long enough. The players were beneficiaries of cloud cover and a few refreshing drops of rain.

Quarterback BJ Daniels was once again wearing a non-contact red jersey. Coach Skip Holtz and Daniels have both stressed the importance making sure Daniels is involved in some contact this fall as part of the healing process from his off-season shoulder surgery.

USF will be back at it tomorrow when they practice at 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.

Prado Makes an Appearance at Practice
Head USF baseball coach Lelo Prado stopped by practice to check out the Bulls this afternoon as a guest of Coach Holtz.

Since Holtz's hiring in mid-January, the two have formed quite a friendship.

Landi Continues to Do it All
Redshirt-sophomore Evan Landi is always a favorite topic of media and Bulls' fans alike.

2010 should be no different.

A “Slash” of sorts for the Bulls, Landi came out of the spring a starter at wide receiver and the No. 2 quarterback behind B.J. Daniels as while as serving the primary place holder for the Bulls kick off unit.

Granted it was a drill but it looks like Landi might be expanding his special role as he was working in the early part of practice on the Bulls' kick coverage unit.

No surprise to us but it looks like Landi used the off-season workout program to get bigger and stronger. He is now listed at 221 lbs. on the roster.

@USFFootball Might need to find @mistralUSF16 a new nickname. Not sure we can call him #Skinny anymore. #LookinglikeanLB

@USFFootball @Coachholtz said transfer Darrell Scott did practice this afternoon while Dontae Aycock did not but they expect him tp tomorrow.

@USFFootball  It really looks like Evan Landi bought into the offseason workout program. He put on some muscle and looks great #passingtheeyeballyest

@USFFootball #VIPSighting Baseball coach LeLo Prado is out at practice today checking out the Bulls talking to his buddy @Coachholtz.

@USFFootball Great showing by our fine Bay area media outlets. Looks to be 30+ members of media covering today's practice.

@USFFootball TJ Knowles looks to be every inch of 6'8.

@USFFootball Maikon Bonani and Eric Schwartz are both working as No. 1 place kicker in a doublebarrel kicking drill.

@USFAthletics With both checking in at 6'8, I wonder who would win in a game of one-on-one? WR TJ Knowles or LHP Andrew Barbosa

Come One, Come All to Vero Beach
Following the first four practices which will be on campus, USF Football will pack up and head to the Vero Beach Sports Village. We are proud to announce that practices are open to the public. A practice schedule will be released later this week.
