By TOM ZEBOLD USF Senior Writer TAMPA – Shelbie Dailey dazzled with a 42-assist performance in the Bulls' four-set home loss to Seton Hall on Sunday. Seton Hall had an assist machine of its own with Shelbey Monthorpe posting 27 in a 25-21, 20-25, 25-21, 25-21 win over USF, which won its first match of the weekend on Saturday against Rutgers. “I have to give so much credit to Seton Hall. They are one of the most difficult teams to defend because their setter is so active,” USF head coach Claire Lessinger said. “That is such an offensive weapon. There are a lot of things about defending them that makes it very difficult.” J'beria Davis and Valerie El Houssine combined for 27 kills, while Janice Rivera recorded 18 digs for USF. Lessinger said the Bulls must maintain a high level of play at the USF Recreational Center, which has only seen the team twice in the past 10 matches. “Home matches are so crucial for us right now. We need to take advantage of this time here,” Lessinger said. “Seton Hall is going to be a team that will continue to have some big upsets. I look at this and we can take a lot out of this positively. But we have to focus on notching W's here.” USF will look to get back to its winning ways at home Friday with a 7 p.m. test against Connecticut.
