Von Eynatten Recognized by USTFCCCA

TAMPA --- University of South Florida track and field athlete Denise von Eynatten had the top women's pole vault mark of the weekend, according to a United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) release on Monday.
Von Eynatten, a German graduate student at USF, took home first place while setting a new personal-best leap of 14-1.75 at the 2011 BIG EAST Indoor Championships this past weekend. With the mark, she set a new BIG EAST meet record replacing the previous record of 13-9.25, set back in 2009 by Notre Dame's Mary Saxer.
The new height also automatically qualified her for the NCAA Indoor Championships in College Station, TX on March 11-13. She currently sits at sixth place on the NCAA indoor performance list, according to TFFRS.org.
Von Eynatten is ranked first on USF's indoor and outdoor all-time lists in the pole vault after competing for the Bulls during the 2008 season. Her previous indoor best came at the Jayhawk Invitational (Jan. 28) when she earned a then-school record 14-0 mark. Her best outdoor mark as a Bull came in 2008 when she vaulted a 13-5.25.
