After a scoreless first frame for both teams, Seton Hall touched up Bulls starter Matt Reed for back to back RBI singles in the second inning to take a 2-0 lead.
Reed was admirable on the afternoon keeping the Bulls in the game but would get little help from the Bulls at the plate.
Seton Hall tacked on a run in the sixth before chasing Reed in the seventh after scoring three runs, two of which were credited to Reed.
Reed would leave the game after 6.1 innings, scattering six hits taking the loss to fall to 2-3 on the season.
AFter coming from behind in Game 2, it wouldn ot be the case on Sunday as the Bulls struggled all afternoon trying to solve Pirates starter Jon Prosinski. USF registered just four hits off the right hander. Proniski picked up his third win of the season going, 7.2 innings, striking out six Bulls.
The Bulls best scoring chance came in the seventh as Chad Taylor and James Ramsay led off the inning with back-to-back singles but both would be stranded after the next three batters were retired.
The Bulls will return to the friendly confines of the USF Baseball Stadium for the first time in four games and the lone time in a stretch of nine games on Tuesday night. USF will welcome No. 20 Stetson for a mid-week clash that will be broadcasred on the Bright House Sports Network.
