
Bulls Can't Get Past SMU on Senior Day

By TOM ZEBOLD USF Senior Writer TAMPA – The USF volleyball team finished off its home slate with a three-set loss to SMU on Sunday afternoon at the Corral. Middle blocker Andrea Rodriguez Gomez was honored on Senior Day before the Bulls fell to the Mustangs, 25-14, 25-20, 25-16. Erin Fairs wrapped up her solid weekend with 16 digs as USF (16-14, 10-6) finished with an 8-7 record at home this season. Freshman Amy Van Sant added 12 digs, while Wylie Devins and Natalia Soares combined for 25 of USF's 27 assists. The Bulls will conclude their season with a pair of road tests next week. USF faces Temple 7 p.m. Wednesday in Philadelphia and Memphis 7 p.m. Friday in Tennessee.
