TAMPA - Andrea Smith's superb senior season has earned her
WBCA All-Region honors.
The guard from Lakeland, Fla., is now a nominee for WBCA
Division I Coaches' All-America team that will be announced at 2:10 p.m. on
Saturday, April 6 during the NCAA Women's Final Four Super Saturday festivities
in New Orleans.
Smith is averaging a team-leading 16.5 points per game
heading into USF's first NCAA tournament appearance since 2006. Smith finished
third in the Big East in scoring while starting in all 31 games this season and
passed the 1,000-point mark as a Bull during the conference tournament.
Smith will look to extend her double-digit scoring streak to
eight games 6:30 p.m. Saturday when the Bulls face Texas Tech in the first
round of the Spokane Regional in Lubbock, Texas.
