
Bulls Unable to Clinch Series Win at Georgetown

By TOM ZEBOLD USF Senior Writer TAMPA – The Bulls managed three hits in a 7-2 loss at Georgetown that sealed the series win for the Hoyas on Saturday afternoon in Bethesda, Md. Chris Norton's RBI single in the sixth inning highlighted USF's performance at the plate against a trio of Hoyas. Matt Hollenbeck (1-3) allowed two earned runs on two hits in the first six innings for Georgetown (17-9, 3-3). Starter Joey Lovecchio (3-2) gave up six runs (five earned) on nine hits in 3 2/3 innings for the Bulls (14-14, 4-2). The Bulls begin an eight-game home stand 7 p.m. Tuesday against Stetson at USF Baseball Stadium. USF resumes conference play 7 p.m. Friday when it starts a three-game series with Pittsburgh.
