TAMPA, JULY 11, 2014 – Former Bull Eric Sim is in the midst of a super productive week in the Class-A South Atlantic League.
The San Francisco Giants prospect has collected five hits in 12 at-bats the past three games with eight RBIs for the Augusta GreenJackets. Sim drove in three runs in Augusta's 6-4 win over Savannah on Tuesday and hit a two-run homer the following night to help the GreenJackets secure the series win. Sim drove in three more runs in Augusta's 8-2 victory over Greenville on Thursday night.
Sim's hot stretch at the plate helped the catcher raise his batting average to .238 in 29 games at his second pro level this season. The native of Busan, South Korea has two homers, five doubles and 21 RBIs for the GreenJackets.
Sim gained pro attention with his strong arm behind the plate during his lone season with the Bulls in 2010. Sim started 41 of 47 games at catcher and batted .248 with a .366 on-base percentage before being selected in the 27th round by the Giants in the MLB Draft.
