Bulls Ready for FSU Invitational

TAMPA, OCT. 5, 2017ย โ Following a week away from competition, the USF cross country team will travel north for the FSU Invitational on Friday, Oct. 6.
This will be an important meet for the Bulls, who will host their lone home meet, the USF Invitational, at The Claw on Friday, Oct. 13.
The men's team has been led by senior John Weaver (Jacksonville, Fla.), who has been the top USF finisher each of the three meets this season. In his last time out, Weaver completed the Mountain Dew Invitational 8k in 26:06.1, 17th overall in a field of over 200 runners.
Similar to Weaver, freshman Rania Samhouri (Tampa) has posted the fastest time of all USF female runners in the team's three meets. Most recently, Samhouri competed in her first collegiate 5k, a time of 19:01.8 at the Mountain Dew Invitational.
This meet will serve as the second 8k for the men and second 5k for the women.
Friday's meet at FSU will begin with the men's 8k at 7:40 a.m. The women's 5k will follow at 8:20 a.m.
The field of over 20 college teams features the host FSU Seminoles and the Florida Gators.

About USF Cross Country
Dena Reifย is in her sixth season as the head coach of USF cross country. The history of USF's women's program consists of five conference and two region championships as well as five NCAA qualifying teams. The USF men's program has produced seven conference championships and three NCAA qualifying teams.
