TAMPA, Nov. 16, 2017 – The University of South Florida volleyball team plays on Friday and Sunday for the final time this season with a pair of road matches, beginning with UConn on Nov. 17 then Temple Nov. 19.

The Bulls (11-15, 6-10 The American) made senior day memorable with a four-set win against Tulane on Nov. 12. Freshman
Doris Carter (Lexington, Ky.) recorded her first career double-double against the Green Wave with 19 kills and 19 digs. She totaled 27 kills and 29 digs over the weekend and was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll. Â
Both setters played well for a second-consecutive weekend. Senior
Alex Mendoza (Minneola, Fla.) recorded her ninth double-double of the season against Tulane with 28 assists and 10 digs, as she tallied 41 assists in the two matches. Junior
Briana Stowell (Orlando) notched her second-straight double-double against Houston on Nov. 10 with 20 assists and 11 digs. She then had 24 assists and eight digs against Tulane.

THE OPPONENTS
UConn: The Huskies are led by do-it-all redshirt-sophomore outside hitter Kayla Williams, who leads the team and ranks in the top three in the conference in service aces (33), points per set (4.51), and kills per set (3.88). Williams sits atop the league with 0.41 aces per set. Junior setter Emma Turner is fourth in The American with 1,005 assists on the year and 11.24 assists per set. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â

Temple: The Owls sit 12-4 in the conference and are in third place. The veteran teams ranks second in the league in kills per set (13.61), hitting percentage (0.242), blocks per set (2.41) and assists per set (12.83). Senior outside hitter Izzy Rapacz leads Temple with 308 kills on the year and has 101 blocks. Senior middle blocker Janine Simmons is fourth in The American with 1.14 blocks per set (104 total blocks). Senior setter Kyra Coundourides is third in the conference with 10.22 assists per set. NOTABLES
- The Bulls are third in The American with 1.23 aces per set  and fifth with 16.69 digs per set.
- Carter leads USF with 223 kills on the year. She is second among league rookies with 2.71 kills per set.
- Redshirt-junior Clara Payne (Osteen, Fla.) and junior Reagan Davey (Ocala, Fla.) are second on the team with 200 kills apiece.
- Payne remains the team leader with 93 blocks and a .290 hitting percentage. Â
- USF has over 100 digs from eight different players, led by junior Maria McLamb (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) with 327.
- The Bulls hold a combined 20-15 over the Huskies and Owls. Â Â Â Â Â

About USF Volleyball
In addition to 10 newcomers, USF returns a large core of talent for 2017, led by senior setter Alex Mendoza, who surpassed the 2,000 assist total in 2016 and posted a team-high 1,125 helpers. Redshirt-junior middle blocker Clara Payne finished second on the team with 340 points and senior middle blocker Joli Holland finished fourth with 251.5 points. The Bulls are guided by sixth-year head coach Courtney Draper.
