USF Volleyball Adds to 2018’s Roster
TAMPA, Dec. 15, 2017 – The University of South Florida volleyball team is happy to announce the addition of Jac'cara Walker to the 2018 roster.
Head coach
Courtney Draper and the Bulls signed four talented freshmen in November, as Walker becomes the fifth newcomer for next season.
"We are very excited to welcome Jac'cara to our program," said coach Draper. "Our staff loved watching her play throughout her high school career and she now has proven success as a Division I player as well. She is simply a great six rotation volleyball player. I think she is going to help our program on many levels and is a great match for our system."
Hailing from Gainesville, Fla., the 5-9 outside hitter recorded 1,700 kills, 154 blocks, 260 service aces and 1,100 digs during her high school career at P.K. Yonge, playing for coach Chad Davis. Walker was named a prep volleyball All-American and the Gainesville Suns Player of the Year as a sophomore, junior and senior.
Walker was named the District 4A Player of the Year and a Max Preps All-American as a junior. She was the Gatorade Florida Player of the Year and District 3A Player of the Year as a senior. Walker's team at P.K. Yonge won the state championship in her junior and senior seasons.
Walker comes to USF following two seasons at Marshall University. She totaled 712 kills, 369 digs, 54 blocks and 55 aces in her two years at Marshall. Walker was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team and earned Conference USA Freshman of the Week honors twice.
