Bulls Host SAISA Women’s Fall Championship

TAMPA, SEPT. 29, 2017 – The USF Sailing team hosts the SAISA Women's Fall Championships this Saturday and Sunday in St. Petersburg.
This weekend will feature the qualifier for the ICSA Singlehanded Women's National Championships, hosted by the Bulls Nov. 3-5.
It will also be the qualifier for the ACC Women's Fall Championships, held Nov. 11-12.
NOTABLES
The USF sailing program has reached the national finals in five of the last six years. The Bulls finished in the top 10 during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. The sailing team is based out of St. Petersburg and led by head coach Allison Jolly, a 2016 Florida Sports Hall of Fame inductee.

NOTABLES
- Senior Sarah Streater (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) is the only USF entrant for the singlehanded qualifier.
- Streater will also lead the A division for the doublehanded qualifiers along with freshman Dae Kelly (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.).
- Following an impressive debut at the Stu Nelson Regatta two weeks ago, the B division will again feature freshmen Marina Barzaghi (Saunderstown, R.I.) and Katie Bornarth (Stuart, Fla.).
- Junior Rachel Yannelli (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) and sophomore Delaney Brown (West Palm, Fla.) will serve as the two alternates.
- The Bulls finished second in this very same event last year. Streater sailed in the A division and finished second, while Brown was in the B division and also finished second. Streater finished third in the singlehanded qualifications.
- Conditions for this weekend are calling for temperatures in the upper mid 80s with a 50% chance of morning showers.
