ORLANDO, Nov 6, 2018 – Despite an early 1-0 lead and an impressive eight shots on goal, the Bulls fell to fourth-seeded Memphis in the opening round of The American tournament.
Adrian Billhardt (Berlin, German) checked into the match just in time for USF to take an early lead, entering in the 30
th minute and recording in assist in the 32
nd. Billhardt sent a pass from the left wing to the inside right corner of the 18-yard box.
Jonathan Rosales (Kissimmee, Fla.) had one perfect touch that set up second team all-conference selection
Alex Zis (Canada) to punch in the Bulls goal, beating the keeper left.
Just five minutes later, the Tigers were awarded a penalty kick that tied the match, 1-1. The game remained tied until the 81
st minute when the Tigers played a ball into the penalty box and shot from just six yards out. USF keeper
Harrison Devenish-Meares was able to get hands on it, but the shot pushed through to double Memphis' score. The Tigers added an insurance goal in the 87
th minute.
